TERMS & CONDITIONS

By purchasing a ticket and participating in Gems of Drogheda Quest, you agree to

the following terms and conditions.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

1. LIABILITY & RISK ASSUMPTION

1.1 Gems of Drogheda Quest is an outdoor, multi-location treasure hunt event

involving teams visiting various businesses and locations across Drogheda.

1.2 Drogheda City Now (DCN), its volunteers, organizers, and affiliated partners

accept NO LIABILITY for any injuries, accidents, loss, damage, or problems that

occur during participation in the Quest.

1.3 Participants acknowledge that the Quest involves:

• Walking and navigating across multiple locations in Drogheda

• Visiting various public and private business premises

• Exposure to traffic, weather, and general public spaces

• Physical activity and exertion

1.4 By purchasing a ticket, you assume FULL RESPONSIBILITY for:

• Your own safety and the safety of your team members

• Any injuries or accidents that may occur

• Compliance with traffic laws and public safety regulations

• Appropriate footwear, weather preparation, and physical fitness for the activity

1.5 DCN is NOT responsible for:

• Injuries during the Quest (minor or major)

• Lost or stolen personal belongings

• Weather-related issues or cancellations

• Problems or disputes with participating businesses

• Any other incidents arising from participation

2. EVENT DESIGN & OPERATION

2.1 The Gems of Drogheda Quest puzzles, questions, game mechanics, and overall

event design are created and managed by Escape Rooms Drogheda (Kata & Lori).

2.2 Escape Rooms Drogheda is the PRIMARY POINT OF CONTACT for all matters

relating to:

• Puzzle design and clue content

• Game rules and mechanics

• Technical issues with the Action Bound app or game functionality

• Briefing and on-the-day coordination

• Clue hints and gameplay support

2.3 Escape Rooms Drogheda acts as HOST of this event. DCN is a supporting

partner and event organizer but defers to Escape Rooms Drogheda for all

game-related decisions and support.

2.4 Participants must follow all instructions provided by Escape Rooms Drogheda

staff (Kata & Lori) during the event briefing and throughout the Quest.

3. ACTION BOUND APP & TECHNICAL ISSUES

3.1 The Gems of Drogheda Quest is delivered via the Action Bound mobile

application (free iOS/Android app).

3.2 Action Bound is a third-party application. DCN and Escape Rooms Drogheda

are not responsible for:

• Technical malfunctions or crashes

• Answer validation issues (e.g., if an answer is marked incorrect due to

app strictness on formatting or spelling)

• Connectivity or download issues

• User error in app navigation

3.3 If participants encounter technical issues with the Action Bound app:

• Take a SCREENSHOT of the issue

• Share the screenshot in the WhatsApp group

• Kata & Lori will provide guidance or manual resolution where possible

3.4 ANSWER STRICTNESS: The Action Bound app may be strict in validating answers.

For example:

• If the correct answer is "umbrella" but you enter "umbrellas" or "Umbrella,"

the app may mark it as incorrect

• Spacing, capitalization, and pluralization matter

• If you believe your answer is correct but the app rejects it, take a

screenshot, share it in the WhatsApp group, and Kata & Lori will review

3.5 Participants are responsible for ensuring the Action Bound app is downloaded

and functional BEFORE Quest Day.

4. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY

4.1 DCN volunteers will be present throughout the Quest to photograph and video

record the event and participants.

4.2 Unless you explicitly OPT OUT, by purchasing a ticket you consent to:

• Being photographed during the Quest

• Being recorded on video during the Quest

• DCN using these photos and videos for promotional purposes, social media,

and event documentation

4.3 To OPT OUT of photography and videography:

• Reply to the pre-Quest email stating "Do not photograph me"

• Inform DCN volunteers on the day before the Quest begins

• Your request will be respected throughout the event

4.4 Photos and videos may be shared on:

• DCN social media channels (@droghedacitynow)

• DCN website

• Partner business social media

• Local media outlets (with permission)

4.5 DCN respects privacy and will not identify individuals by name without

explicit consent, unless they have already shared their details publicly.

5. PRIZES & PRIZE DISTRIBUTION

5.1 TOTAL PRIZE POT: The current total prize pool for Gems of Drogheda Quest

is €2,300 (Two Thousand Three Hundred Euros).

5.2 PRIZE POT SUBJECT TO CHANGE: This prize pot may vary and is subject to

change based on sponsor contributions and partner participation. The €2,300

represents the TOTAL prize pool, not individual team awards.

5.3 PRIZE DISTRIBUTION: Individual team prizes are allocated as SPLITS from

the total prize pot. Each winning team receives a portion of the overall pool,

not a fixed monetary amount.

5.4 NO RANKING BY TIME: There is NO first place, second place, or third place

in Gems of Drogheda Quest.

5.5 WINNING CRITERIA: Every team that achieves a MINIMUM THRESHOLD OF POINTS

from the Quest wins a prize.

5.6 POINT THRESHOLD: The minimum threshold of points required to win is

determined by Escape Rooms Drogheda and will be explained in detail during

the BRIEFING at the start of the Quest.

5.7 Participants MUST attend the briefing to understand the winning threshold

and prize criteria.

5.8 PRIZE RANDOMIZATION: Prizes are randomly selected for each winning team

from the available prize pool. Prizes are not assigned by rank or preference.

5.9 PRIZE CLAIM: Winners will be contacted after the Quest to arrange prize

collection from participating businesses.

5.10 PRIZES ARE FINAL: Once a prize is allocated to a team, it cannot be

exchanged, refunded, or returned. Prizes are non-transferable unless stated

otherwise.

6. TIMING & COMPLETION

6.1 Gems of Drogheda Quest is NOT a timed competition. Teams are not racing

against each other or against the clock.

6.2 COMPLETION DEADLINE: The Quest MUST be completed by 9:00 PM (21:00) on

the day you start.

6.3 Teams that do not return to Escape Rooms Drogheda with a completed Quest

by 9:00 PM will not be eligible for prizes.

6.4 Teams may take as long as they need to complete the Quest (within the 9 PM

deadline). The speed of completion does not affect prize eligibility or

allocation.

7. RULES & CHANGES

7.1 Gems of Drogheda Quest rules may change from time to time at the discretion

of Escape Rooms Drogheda and DCN.

7.2 Any rule changes will be communicated via:

• The WhatsApp coordination group

• Email to registered participants

• In-person briefing at Escape Rooms Drogheda

7.3 Participants are responsible for understanding and complying with ALL

rules as explained in the briefing.

7.4 For clarification on rules or any changes, refer to the BRIEFING provided

by Kata or Lori at Escape Rooms Drogheda at the start of the Quest.

8. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT

8.1 Participants agree to:

• Respect all participating businesses and their staff

• Follow all traffic and public safety laws

• Behave respectfully toward other teams and the public

• Not engage in any illegal or dangerous activity

• Comply with all instructions from Escape Rooms Drogheda staff and DCN

volunteers

8.2 Participants who engage in disruptive, dangerous, or disrespectful behaviour

may be disqualified from the Quest and forfeit any prize eligibility.

8.3 Participants are responsible for any damage caused to business premises or

public property during the Quest. DCN and Escape Rooms Drogheda are not liable

for participant actions.

9. PAYMENT & REFUNDS

9.1 Ticket price: €7.50 per team (of 3-6 players)

9.2 Payment is non-refundable once a ticket is purchased.

9.3 In the event of event cancellation due to circumstances beyond DCN's control

(e.g., extreme weather, public health emergency), DCN will offer either:

• A full refund, OR

• Rescheduling to an alternative Quest date

9.4 DCN reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event with 24 hours' notice

if necessary for safety or logistical reasons.

10. DATA & PRIVACY

10.1 By registering, you consent to DCN and Escape Rooms Drogheda collecting

and storing your:

• Name

• Email address

• Phone number

• Team member names

• Demographic information (optional)

10.2 This information is used solely for event coordination, communication, and

photography/videography consent purposes.

10.3 Your data will not be sold, shared, or used for purposes other than event

management without explicit consent.

11. AGREEMENT TO TERMS

11.1 By purchasing a ticket to Gems of Drogheda Quest, you confirm that you:

• Have read and understood these Terms & Conditions

• Agree to all terms outlined above

• Assume full liability for your participation

• Consent to photography and videography (unless you have opted out)

• Understand that DCN accepts no responsibility for injuries or incidents

11.2 If you do not agree to these terms, do not purchase a ticket.

12.2 Any disputes arising from participation will be handled in accordance with

Irish consumer law and the jurisdiction of County Louth.
