About Drogheda City Status Group
Drogheda City Now is a community campaign initiative by Drogheda City Status Group, established to create a membership base, build connected communities and collaborate through city-style events for Drogheda’s residents and business communities. We want to energise city life, unite communities and act as a voice for them.
Why Drogheda City
Drogheda is Ireland’s largest town. It spans two counties, sits in two administrative systems, and is governed through structures designed for a much smaller place.
Drogheda already has the population, economic base and heritage profile of a city. What it lacks is a governance model that matches its scale.
That fragmentation creates practical challenges:
Split planning and transport systems
Divided services and priorities
Slower decision-making
Reduced access to city-focused funding streams

We intend to organise a strong, supportive membership base, a community of connected residents and businesses.
We are Drogheda residents, business owners, families and community builders creating city-scale events for community members who care about Drogheda’s future.
